England completed a historic 4-0 T20I series sweep over India on Saturday, 11 July 2026, with Jos Buttler and Harry Brook β captains past and present β putting on a record second-wicket partnership of 233 runs off just 103 balls to blow the series wide open.
In the deciding fifth T20I, England posted 257 for 3, with Buttler making 131 and Brook 95, before bowling India out for 201 for 8 despite half-centuries from Ishan Kishan (56) and Tilak Varma (53), winning by 56 runs.
The result followed a similarly one-sided fourth T20I on 9 July, when England chased down India's 158 for 7 (Shreyas Iyer 80 not out) with 159 for 1 in reply, Brook (79*) and Phil Salt (59*) seeing the chase home with nine wickets in hand.
The 4-0 scoreline marks the first time India have lost a bilateral T20I series by a clean sweep, and leaves the side winless in their last seven completed T20I matches. England's dominant series win also took them to the top of the ICC's T20I team rankings.
