April 7, 2010: On the occasion of World Health Day (W.H.O. Day), Mission India Foundation (www.MIFusa.org) launched MMR Vaccination project in Narnaul, Haryana. The function was held at Arya Samaj Mandir, Narnaul. US-based NGO Mission India Foundation has partnered with Bharat Vikas Parishad, Narnaul and Dr Manoj Singhal (Pediatrician in practice in Narnaul) to implement this project.
Over a span of one year, MIF has the target to vaccinate 4000 kids against 3 diseases called Measles, Mumps and Rubella by providing MMR Vaccine. Under this project, MIF has issued Vaccine Cards (VCs) which will reach the target population (poorer strata of the society) with the help of BVP. The card-holders (parents) will take their kids to the local Pediatrician at the clinic facilty. The MMR vaccine will be administered by the clinic. MIF will bear the cost of the vaccines and the vaccines are provided free of cost to the kids aged 1 to 4 years.
Speaking on behalf of Mission India Foundation, Dr VP Yadav hoped that the MMR Vaccination project will positively impact the lives of the kids of the area. He also told the audience about the MMR vaccine and its benefits. During this opening ceremony of the project, Dr Manoj Singhal vaccinated kids for MMR vaccine. Also present were executive members of Bharat Vikas Parishad,Narnaul, including its President Mr Vikas Jaideep.
